Little Black Dress Vodka

Little Black Dress Vodka

"Per 1.5 oz serving size LBD classic vodka contains 100 calories, 0 g carbohydrates, 0 g protein, 0 g fat
Per 1.5 oz serving size LBD flavored vodkas contain 100 calories, 0 g carbohydrates, 0 g protein, 0 g fat"

I've never been one to calorie count. But, I find myself worrying about it at times. Especially here recently! When I looked down to see what was on my foot and only saw belly. Egad! So, I won't be calorie counting persay. But, I plan on keeping a better eye on what I'm drinking at least. I plan on cutting down on my beer and looking over what mixers I use! I don't drink anything Diet though! I like the real deal!

Here are my thoughts on this vodka though. Was happily surprised!

Classic Plain:
very very clean smooth vodka. It has a very unique aftertaste that is going to be perfect for martinis!!!! I wasn't sure what to expect...but it wasn't this! Looking for an excellent plain vodka...oh yes ladies! Perfect for a martini party!

Honey Pineapple:
I'm very skeptical about this flavor.....WOW!!! I would never have thought about combining these two flavors! You know how pineapple can be a little overwhelming at times? The honey adds just a slight touch of sweetness and tones down the pineapple taste without losing it or being blindingly obvious! I could throw a few ice cubes in a glass and just enjoy sipping on this straight!

Black Cherry Vanilla:
Come on this is going to be a shoe in! Who doesn't like black cherry and vanilla flavors!!!!
The verdict is.....not as smooth as the pineapple. The smell is great and has a full body...the flavor is ok. This is still super smooth, would be excellent for mixing! Not something I would throw ice in and sip though.

Blueberry Pomegrante:
Great blueberry taste! It has an ever so slightly "tartness" to it. Which I think adds to it. It actually tastes like freshly picked blueberries. Different from your average everyday sweet blueberry taste. The pomegrante stays as an underlying flavor in this. It would be great with POM juice!

What I love about These vodkas is that they have a great calorie count. They taste great!! Especially the pineapple honey! The website and drinks created for these drinks is really cool on top of that! As you have probably already noticed I've posted the Link at the top. The calorie count comes straight from their site on the VERY bottom of the page in VERY tiny letter and numbers! It's what the quotes are for!

This will make a great hit at any ladies party! Especially for martini night! I am looking forward to experimenting with my own drink mixes and will get back to you all with a few of my own! Here is my list of top fav to least fav!

1. Classic
2. Pineapple Honey
3. Blueberry Pomegrante
4. Black Cherry Vanilla

I'm a huge flavored vodka drinker. But, the classic just blew them all away!
Happy Drinking ladies!!!

Beer Coffee Cake

As most of you well know I love trying out new beers! Not always your average everyday beers either. But, in general the beers you look at and decide not to get because of the price. Those happen to be my favorite kinds of beers to get. Especially the fruity tootie ones!!!!
You might be wondering, what happens when I don't like this really expensive beer. I'm screwed right? Wrong. This is now where my creativity kicks in and I begin to think of what the beer would taste good with or in! In my house alcohol never goes to waste. I've spent money on it, so why waste it? Or why give it away? Nope nope. Into the food it goes! Because we all know how I love my food! Especially my sweets! Egad my sweets! Talking about sweets.....let me tell you about this new beer I tired.
Black coffee drinkers Unite!!!!! Is this ever the beer for you! When I popped this sucker open I thought it smelled delicious! I was super excited about it. That first taste...made me look at the bottle and want to grab my cream and sugar to add to it! Now, don't get me wrong. The beer was actually really good. But, one thing to keep in mind, I'm one of those people that ruins a good cup of coffee with cream and sugar! And a LOT of it too!
Now if you love your coffee black you are going to love this beer, It had a nice heavy body, it is a stout! The flavor of coffee was a PERFECT blend! Then with the added notes of dark chocolate to compliment it.....I became very excited! Sure, I didn't personally care for the beer itself, but it gave me a great idea!
Now what made me decide to try this beer in the first place. There have been a few people come through Dixie and have just LOVED this beer enough to buy two packs at a time. This is a great beer and I look forward to trying more beer from this company! They did a superb job!
Now, On to my moment of creative amazingness!
I have found that beer makes some of the most moist cakes I have ever made in my life. Believe me, I have been baking from sractch since I was 8 years old. When I used a cake mix for the first time. I had looked at the box. Then looked at my mom and with my eyebrows up in my hair line I asked her in disbelief, "That's it?!" She laughed and nodded telling me. "Yes, that's it Dottie."
I looooove coffee cake. So why not give coffee cake a little bit of that awsome coffee flavor with this beer! So the recipe follows! Open up a beer take a sip, then if you like it, measure what you need for this cake and enjoy the rest of the bottle! I only used about 2/3 of a bottle for this recipe. Something to keep in mind. Maybe try opening two bottles and making three cakes at one time. You never know!
Have fun with this and happy Baking!!!

Pour batter into a greased and floured  7"x11" dish.

Sprinkle topping crumb mixture evenly over batter. Or if you are like me....I forgot the topping and added it for the last 5 minutes of cook time and it was perfectly fine!

Sprinkle Powder Surgar to your heart's content all over this bad boy and serve piping hot with a hot cup of coffee! The best ever!

Evan WIlliam's Apple Orchard

This is the time of the year that we all anxiously await the arrival of egg nog! We wait and we wait and we wait. Well, while you are waiting for that yummy stuff to hit the shelves try Evan's Apple Orchard!

Believe it or not this stuff is Ah-mazing!!! I was really not sure if I was going to try it or not. I kept looking at it..and looking at it. Picking up the bottle. Putting it back. Back and forth, back and forth. Finally....after the debate I finally tried it! OH boy am I glad that I did!

Please keep in mind I am not a bourbon or dark liquor drinker. This stuff was just incredibly smooth going down!

It has this awswome kick of cinnamon at first, with a smooth finish of apple cider. This is amazing by itself OR.... Grab a box of that instant apple cider. Fill the coffee pot with hot water and make one cup. Split the cup in half between two mugs and fill the rest with Apple Orchard!

Now the big question... what proof is it?
17% alc/vol or 34 Proof
Not to strong and yet not to weak. Just right for a lovely evening without getting trashed. Not enough proof? Well, duh...just add more Evan!!!!

This is going to be great for the upcoming holidays. It never hurts to try it early on to see if you like it or not. Then to stock up on it for those great holiday parties that are just around the corner. This and the seasonal Fulton's Pumpkin Pie are going to make any party special. Or just make a cozy evening....all the more cozier!!! -wink wink-

New stuff is on the way! Once it hits the shelf I'll let you guys know about it!
